VTL1200 Torque Limiter

The Model VTL1200 Torque Limiter is a mechanical device that is placed between the output of a reducer and the input of a large air / hydraulic cylinder that is used on the pipe handling systems of off shore oil drilling platforms. The torque limiter serves as a mechanical protection for the cylinder while it is being raised and lowered. Several models of the VTL1200 are used, including one with an encoder wheel that is an integral part of the rotating friction plates.
